A fire which broke out at a B&M store overnight in a Blackburn retail park has continued into this afternoon.
Flames were seen exploding from the store at Peel Retail Park, Hyndburn, in footage captured by a local business.
The dramatic scenes at night have continued into this afternoon and firefighters are reportedly still battling the flames.
The Blackburn Fire Station confirmed that despite the drama, no one was injured or killed after the store caught fire thanks to the successful efforts of staff to evacuate shoppers.
In a statement, the station said it deployed 10 fire trucks when the fire was at its worst and that operations were still ongoing despite the large-scale response.
They added that they are currently unsure what sparked the fire on Saturday.
They said: “At its height, we had 10 fire trucks present along with two aerial ladder platforms.
“We had to use water tankers and tactical firefighting to prevent the fire from spreading to Halfords.
“Operations continue this morning.
“We can’t say what caused the fire at this time, but no one was hurt and B&M Bargains staff made sure everyone was evacuated safely.”
Road closures remain on the scene near Peel Retail Park, and fire crews remain nearby as well.
Authorities have advised people living in the area to keep windows closed while the threat of smoke persists.
