A Turkish Airlines flight transmitted an emergency call en route from Istanbul to the UK tonight, according to the airline’s trackers.
Multiple tracking accounts reported that flight TK1997 from Istanbul to London emitted the signal this afternoon as it was approaching London.
The flight reportedly diverted to Birmingham after failing to land at its original destination.
